오늘 알아볼 주얼러는 빌헬름 루카스 폰 크라나흐 (Wilhelm Lucas von Cranach)로,

본업은 독일 화가입니다.

이번에는 다행히 본인 사진이 있었습니다.

루카스 선더(Lucas Sunder)라는 이름으로도 알려져 있다고 합니다.

예명인가?

생몰연도는 1861년부터 1918년입니다.

작품에는 이름의 앞글자를 딴 WLC 라는 각인을 새겼습니다.

화가이자 판화가이자 건축가이자 주얼리 디자이너...

이 시대에는 유독 멀티 뛰는 사람이 많더군요.

유명한 예술가 가문 출신으로,

바이마르 작센 대공국 미술학교에서 공부를 했고

1887년에 첫 전시회를 열었습니다.

프랑스 파리에 간 적도 있고...

그랑 투르(grand tour)거나 유학이 아닐런지...

1893년에는 독일 베를린에 정착했다고 합니다.

주얼리 디자인은 주로 아르누보 양식으로 1890년 대부터 시작했으며,

실제 제작은 베를린 궁정 세공사인 프리들랜더(Friedländer)나 루이 베너(Louis Werner)가 주로 했다고 합니다.

1900년에 열린 파리 만국박람회에서는 금메달을 수상했습니다.

정확히 어떤 작품으로 금메달을 딴 건지는 알 수 없었습니다.

주된 모티브는 아르누보 스타일답게 식물과 꽃, 뱀 등이었습니다.

그 외에 날개 달린 환상 동물들도 역시, 아르누보 답게 디자인했습니다.

1918년에 베를린에서 오랜 투병 끝에 사망했습니다.

대표작은 여러 개가 있는데,

그중 하나가 바로 이 오팔 얼굴을 한 브로치입니다.

멋지네요.

근데 수분 관리를 잘못했는지, 아니면 원래 이랬던 건지 금이 가버렸...ㅠㅠ

다른 하나는 암탉과 수탉 브로치입니다.

그 외에도 갑오징어(cuttlefish)나 문어, 해파리 등의 모티브를 썼습니다.

일단 이건 문어...갑오징어(?)와 생선이 모티브군요.

이건 해파리입니다.

장식용 빗

뭐랄까...아래 건 좀...뭔가 크툴루(Cthulhu)스러운데요...

일단 작품명은 [문어와 나비]입니다만...이건 그냥 [문어 나비] 아닌가요...

르'뤼에에서 헤엄칠 것처럼 생겼습니다.
